Heartland Ministries, Inc.

Heartland Ministries, Inc., turned on its WVHM (90.5 FM) transmitter on June 30, 1989. We operate an additional translator in Madisonville, Kentucky to increase the station's coverage area and provide Southern Gospel music and Christian programming to a larger audience. WVHM remains the flagship station of Heartland Ministries Radio, covering all of western Kentucky and portions of northern Tennessee and southern Illinois.

WVHM's sister stations, WAAJ (89.7 FM) and WTRT (88.1 FM), also serve west Kentucky and the surrounding area. WAAJ, known as Elevate FM, plays a Christian Hit Radio format. WTRT, known as Thrive FM, plays a mix of contemporary Christian worship and Christian teaching programs, including Focus on the Family and Dr. James Dobson's Family Talk.

Our stations are non-commercial and listener-supported, operating under the vision of Philippians 4:8, which admonishes us to think on “whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is of good repute...and anything worthy of praise...”

Located at 90.5 on the FM dial, WVHM also broadcasts at 89.1 in Madisonville, Ky. Elevate FM 89.7 features around-the-clock music tailored toward young adults, although a wide variety of listener demographics are reached. Christian artists featured on Elevate FM include NEEDTOBREATHE, tobyMac, Switchfoot, Hollyn, and dozens of others. Just like WVHM, Elevate FM streams live on our website as well as the TuneIn radio app for smartphones. Elevate FM features weekend music programs that focus on Christian rock, hip-hop and dance. We strive to provide a positive alternative to today’s mainstream media.	Thrive FM 88.1 provides a softer Christian contemporary music format with an emphasis on praise and worship. You’ll hear artists such as Hillsong, Chris Tomlin, Jeremy Camp, Aaron Shust, and Matt Maher. Programs on Thrive FM include Family Talk, Focus on the Family, Truth for Life, and Key Life.
